SUMMARY: Public Program: Peggy Page, “Birding in New Zealand” -
DESCRIPTION:Few birding locations on the planet offer such spectacular scenery and extraordinary birds as New Zealand. Isolated for millions of years\, it features many species–even whole families–of birds found nowhere else. And its surrounding waters teem with albatross\, petrels and shearwaters\, all easily accessible on coastal pelagic trips. Join local birder Peggy Page as she shares her experiences with keas and kiwis\, tuis and penguins\, and even a visit with hobbits! Brunswick resident Peggy Page has been birding for nearly forty years\, including trips to 25 countries and every US state. She especially loves seabirds and never misses a chance to be out on a choppy sea searching for shearwaters. She is currently a member of the Merrymeeting Audubon board and chair of the Scholarship Committee. \nMorrell Room\, Curtis Memorial Library\, Brunswick \nThe program will be preceded by a chapter board meeting: 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm
