DESCRIPTION:Ethan Whitaker is a retired software developer and entrepreneur who has started and sold multiple companies during his 40-year career. He is a 1980s graduate of Bates College and has authored dozens of Apps for Apple and Google. In 2021\, Ethan broke Maine’s Big Year Birding record\, finding and identifying 324 species of birds in the State in a single calendar year! Ethan and his wife\, Ingrid\, wrote about his Big Year Adventure\, in “Every Bird in Maine”\, available where birding books are sold.  Their most recent book\, “What’s that Bird? — A Kid’s Guide to the Backyard Birds of New England\,” was published in September of 2022.

We will\nsearch for fall migrants at several\nRefuge Divisions.\nMeet at 8:00 a.m. at the Rachel\nCarson Administrative Headquarters\nparking area\, 321Port Road in Wells.\nAfter walking the Carson Trail\, we will\ndrive to several locations. There will\nbe some walking on level ground.\nDirections: Take I-95 to Exit 19\n(Wells). From Exit 19\, turn left onto\nRoute 9/109. At the stop light\, turn\nleft onto Post Road (Route 1 North).\nJust past the Maine Diner\, turn right\nonto Port Road (Route 9) and follow\nfor approximately 3/4 mile.
