DESCRIPTION:We’ll walk (up to 2.5 miles) an easy\, discontinued gravel town road along the northwestern shore of Lake Auburn. Lake Auburn is the water supply for Lewiston/Auburn\, consequently no human contact is allowed. We’ll be looking (and listening) for various breeding forest birds along the trail. \nMeet at 7:30 a.m. at the gated entrance at the south end of the trail. Parking is allowed here (Do not block the gate!). The trail is the discontinued portion of Whitman Spring Road (see Map 11 in the Maine Atlas and Gazetteer).
